The Story of the butterfly Logo:
The Story of the butterfly Logo:
Butterfly’s have always been incredibly special and significant to me. Aside from a childhood fascination with them in the garden, as I grew older and faced challenge’s along the way I can remember many a time looking out of a window and watching these beautiful creatures as they flew from flower to flower, free to come and go as they pleased, or so it seemed. I remember feeling so trapped and helpless at times and watching the butterfly’s fly freely wherever they wanted to go.
For me they became a sign of freedom.
A fact regarding the beautiful butterfly is that while emerging from the chrysalis, stunning and quite majestic, they don’t start off that way. Butterflies begin their lives as humble caterpillars. Not pretty or exciting, and have to not only spin their own cocoon, they have to fight their way out of it in order to emerge the beautiful butterfly. If anyone interferes with this process and tried to help the butterfly out of the cocoon, the buttery will never fly. The process of the struggle is what sends blood and nutrients through the capillaries in the wings, which is ultimately what enables the butterfly to fly.The struggle is necessary to experience that freedom.
Another thing about the butterfly I have always found fascinating, is that it is only the observer that ever sees the beauty in the butterfly, as the butterfly cannot see its own wings. Also, when the butterfly comes to rest, one cannot see the strikingly beautiful colours, only the dark inners of the wings, making them completely invisible.
I chose the strikingly beautiful blue Morpho butterfly (Morpho Menelaus), common to the Amazonian rainforest in Brazil, for my logo as after my miracle healing at the Casa in Abadiania, Brazil, one of these beauties flew around me several times while I was at the sacred waterfall. This is considered to be a most auspicious sign and one of great blessing.
The Logo’s meaning:
The logo was created from the image of the real Brazilian Morpho butterfly. The image is made up of a woman, Linda, as the centre of the butterfly. The wings, appearing almost as stained glass windows, represent the shattered pieces of the story of her life. All the pieces of her journey pulled together to make something new, whole, and stunningly beautiful, a meaningful image of the metaphor of our lives.
The little while dots on the bottom of the wings are symbolic of the light she has experienced, and inspired in those she meets and who’s lives she has touched.
The phases of the moon, maiden, mother and crone, symbolize the transitory nature of life and the inevitability of our journey. This connects us deeply to and grounds us into nature and the infinite possibilities of what is always available.
